Story

The Kingdom of Lethia was originally ruled by the respectable King Reginald. His laws served justice for victims, his compassion was known among all nobles and civilians, and the kingdom prospered for as long as he ruled.

Unfortunately, the peace did not last as war consumed Lethia several years ago. King Reginald lost his throne to a greedy and tyrannical dictator, Ivor, who used to be one of his most trusted advisors. His avarice led to many villages being raided by his armies, stripping most of Lethia’s wealth. For most of the populated areas, Lethia became a place of misery and desolation.

Karah, a hunter who enlisted in the Reconnitor Corps to protect the reign of King Reginald and was sent to the dungeons by Ivor, returns to civil life in her hometown. Her village, like so many others, is affected by Ivor’s thievery, leaving her village desolate. Fueled by rage from being defeated by Ivor and seeing the state of old home, Karah becomes motivated to fight against Ivor's army and steal back the money for hometown and all of Lethia. As the game progresses, Karah will improve the quality of living in the kingdom’s regions, bolster any resistance movement in the country, and rescue King Reginald (who has not, in fact, perished).

Gameplay

Karah Kronicles’ gameplay is an action-adventure game with a heavy use of stealth missions. The gameplay loop follows as such: player explores a town, finding the key to proceed to a dungeon and potentially buy items or accept sidequests. In the dungeons, players navigate through enemy territories and find items/money to bring back to the town, carefully incapacitating enemies on the way. Once the player explores the town’s three dungeons, a mini-boss will reveal itself and must be defeated by the player. Then, it’s on to the next town.
